Composting worms do more than just break down organic matter and turn it into soil.  The organic material is ground by the gizzard that worms use to break down food. Then the worms digest that material further through the use of bacteria in their bodies.  The end product (no pun intended) is a nutrient rich worm casting that is far better than composting without worms.  The worms also move and aerate the compost as they eat which helps good bacteria break down the larger particles so that the worms can eat it.

Click on the links below to be taken to pages on how to use, care for and breed each composting worm.  We even threw in Soldier Grubs which are the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly.  Soldier Flies are great at breaking down organic matter on their own and they can do things and go places that composting worms cannot go.  For instance, they can eat fresh chicken poop.  Composting worm must age the poop before they can eat it, but Soldier Grubs can eat it hot and steaming, straight out of the chicken.

You can also use the larvae to feed your pets and animals.  They love them.
